The Symptom Projects is a platform that aspires to explore the “symptom” in the art, through collaborations with artists, curators, theorists and writers, thus occasioning experimental performances. Over the course of two consecutive years, and following fruitful discussions with the projects’ coordinators, we designed catalogs for both the second and third Symptom Projects.
Throughout the process, we made conscious design decisions based on clear aesthetics and typography that work in favor of the artistic projects being showcased. This focus on precision and details led us to choose a color pallet that does not overshadow the works of art represented, as well as print on matte paper. These projects allowed us to communicate our point of view about art catalogs and how their sole purpose ought to reside in the appreciation of the subjects they are exhibiting.
